Thursday 13

My little Judah has been sick since we have moved to Lexington; either with colds, runny nose, or the worst has been the 2 bouts of pneumonia. Those of you who know us, know none of our children have been sick for more than about 30 hours and none of them have ever been on antibiotics (we are kind of anti-medicine family). So anyway, racking my brain, the Lord reminded me maybe one of the reasons Judah has been so sick is my neglecting my prayer time- specifically over them. Before we moved, I made it a point to spend a minute or so praying over each of them separately. Since we have moved and I've gotten prego, not so much. So, I am sure it's not all spiritual but the Word does say, "Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven..." (Matt. 18:18) and "Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" (Philipians 4:6-7).
So, my list this week is
13 ways I pray for my kids.

1- Feeling loved and accepted.

2- Protection from sickness, disease, and harm

3- Attracting Godly friends and role models

4- Developing a hunger for the things of God
5- Honoring parents and resisting rebellion
6- Breaking down ungodly strongholds/ generational sins and curses
7- Having a love of learning

8- Finding the perfect mate

9- Seeking wisdom and discernment

10- Identifying God-given gifts and talents

11- Enjoying freedom from fear

12- Learning to speak life

13- Releasing my child into God's hands.

Most of these come straight from Stormie Omartian's book
The Power of a Praying Parent. I highly recommend it. The chapters are short and to the point. It's a great bathroom reader.
